Thanks for the Gouin links and all of the others for free Spanish online. We aren't doing Spanish -yet- but it is on my list. We're working on Latin. My kids wanted something way different but now they know that Latin is quite similar to Spanish. Perhaps it will be easier to pick up :)

I love the Gouin series idea, but unfortunately I'm not fluent enough to implement it myself. (Although sometimes I try to fake it with Google translate.) I'm kind of intrigued by the Easy Spanish but wonder if it would start to slow for kids who already have several years of Spanish videos and picture books and songs, although, alas, no Spanish-speaking friends to play with.

I have no ideas (very rarely do lol) but am happy to take yours! My dd and I were talking about this the other day- analyzing poetry. And neither of us know how.

I didn't realize John Perry wrote a biography exclusively about George Washington Carver. A few years back, my son and I read Unshakeable Faith which profiled Booker T. Washington and Carver together. Then, on a trip to Louisiana, we went to Tuskegee and saw different exhibits about both men. Fascinating how God placed two completely different men together like that.

Maybe this might be a good one for Pamela and I to read next year.

I *heart* you, Amy! This are great. I have always struggled with poetry and we didn't start with it in our homeschool until my kids were in middle school and higher. We are all uh, a bit intimidated by poetry. My dd loves it but we still have a long way to go to appreciate it. Thank you again for putting these links here! They are quite helpful!

We are a bit random with our poetry reading too. Last year I determined for the girls to all read the AO selections; we didn't get very far! They often copy poems into their copywork books, so choosing one of those to read aloud is a great idea.

Thanks for all the links! We always read poetry together too. My favorite moment was when we lived in Hiawatha's hunting grounds (Minnesota). We were reading through Longfellow's poem and then went to see one of the Spiderman movies. And what was the hero reading? Hiawatha. My son David was impressed!

Can you get your hands on chlorophyll? (mint is the nicest). If you can get a hold of it, drink it by the bottle. A bottle every day for the first 3-5 days and then slowly reducing amounts. It will help SO much to restore your blood levels and your energy. If you can't get it, contact me and I will mail you a special box. It really is that important. Hugs, LeAnn
