Did I mention something about not having talked with my sons about sexual awareness or something? I think my son is telepathic. You know what he asked me this afternoon? We were talking about when his birthday is as opposed to the doctor given due date.
I quote:
"Mommy, where do babies come out?", figuring this wasn't going to go far... "Well, they live in a special sack inside my tummy and come out a little hole when they are ready," I said, not really wanting to share any more information than the absolute necessary. "Yes, but where is that hole in your tummy?" Knowing now that a vague answer was not going to cut it and knowing he wouldn't give up without a tummy showing, but still fumbling, "Well, the baby lives in there until he's ready and then a special hole opens up and the baby squeezes out." "But Mommy where is the hole?" I'm thinking... why did I even bring up this subject of babies due dates? Why is this so uncomfortable? I mean I don't want to give him more information to work with than he really needs...
In the end I gave him a little more information than he had before, "It's somewhere near my bottom, but it's a special hole just for babies." He'll figure out the rest later when we get there. I'm not really ready to look forward to that. I guess I ought to prepare myself a little more. God really did make our bodies special (in a boyish or girlish sort of way, if you catch my drift) and I want him to realize and feel that same way... SOMEDAY!

LOL! That's really cute! Sometimes the simple answers just aren't enough for them. Sounds like you handled it really well! |

How old is he? Have you heard of the "God's design for sex" series? I just recently purchased it and really like it a lot! It answers those questions in a very clear and tasteful way. I would highly recomend it. I must admit it was a bit difficult for me to read the first book to my boys (ages 5 and 3) but I think it was appropriate information to give them. The next book is supposed to be for ages 5-8 but my 5 year old is no where near ready for that one yet. |

I just noticed that you are in Peru! My sister has been a missionary in Peru for the last few years and her husband is Peruvian. They are here in the states now though. |

Oh, man, your son is a lot more curious than mine. Of course, maybe my son has asked that question but I didn't notice because my answer is easy...they come out of my tummy through an opening the doctor makes. lol. Hmmm...maybe there's an upside to this c-section thing. :-D |
