Big brother

Tonight LooneyTunes (8yob), told my Beloved that he would put the 'babies' to bed.

(The last couple nights he has sat in their room next to LittlestBubby's (1 1/2yob) bed, to keep him from climbing out - which he learned how to do just this last week (...grrr). PrettyPinkPrincess always has a hard time at bed time settling in and staying in her bed as well, but when LooneyTunes stays in there she's just fine, of course.)

Anyway...

He sat in there and told them a story about 'when he was little' and then prayed for them.

Precious.

...then told them a few more stories... scary ones, as he told me a little later. ...well he's still learning, besides, he has a few years before he has to be the one to get up with nightmares ;)

Awww...that is so totally sweet! Story and prayers...that is something that Princess and Littlest will remember when they're older. *sigh* Sounds like you've got some great kiddos (and room for more, of course!).

My almost 7yo loves to help out. He was the one that was talking to Tank last night...trying to comfort him about his odd fears of junior camp...a camp that he initially cried about because he couldn't go to (too young) and then because *I* wouldn't be camping with him. And it's at least 3 years before he's allowed to go. Sweet but silly, huh?

Have a great night and get some rest! You need it, in "your condition" hehehee... ;-)

Love,
Marsha

That is so cute. I love it when my oldest offers to tuck in or put one down for a nap. It's neat to see their affection for each other. I think homeschooling really fosters that. Christa

The BIG announcement

Yep... the NEWS you've all been waiting for... And well yes, it HAS been confirmed...

We are expecting our 5th baby!!!!

He or she is to be born around the first week of January,

so I'm going to try for New Year's Day.

This explains some of that feeling terrible the last couple weeks, huh?! :)

YAY.

Here's his/her first picture: heehehehehe

So, can you tell where his/her head, feet or anything is for that matter?!

That's okay, God's not finished yet! ;) We saw the tiny heart beating, little legs, huge head and I can't remember what else. All at 10weeks! AMAZING!!

Amy :)

CONGRATULATIONS, AMY!!!

I just knew it! All you had to say was BIG announcement and the smarty-pants that I am figured it out. ;-)

How very exciting for all of you! I'm one of five children and have always LOVED being part of a large family (although it's not large compared to many of our friends nowadays).

WOOHOOOOOO!!!

Now get some rest, some chocolate and a nice foot rub!

To the Father of my children

My Beloved, with my four little loves...

I couldn't ask for a better husband and father to my children. He is a wonderful example of a life continually being molded by the Lord, he truly hungers and thirsts for righteousness. He works at whatever he does with all his strength. He is a faithful and trustworthy man who cares deeply for his wife and children. The Lord has blessed me GREATLY!

Happy Father's Day!

What a great husband you've got. Caring and providing for his family while serving The Lord. I'm very impressed with someone who can juggle both.

Since we all struggle with contentment...having someone outside your circle tell you how great you have it.....helps! You've got it good. The Lord truly has blessed you. :)

Today, Tomorrow, Next week and beyond...

Alright, now that I/we have been sick so long, I've forgotten what it is like to write a normal blog entry!

At first glance, I cannot think of a thing to write.

So... today everyone is feeling alright (definition of alright = not vomiting, not in bed in agony, no fevers). Several of us still have recurring stomach aches, but overall, we're doing much better.

Tomorrow, our friends arrive. That will be neat, as long as we don't make them sick!

Consequently, because of our visitors, we have a pretty busy week planned for this next week. I'll have to blog about it as we go along.

Dearest Beloved Micah and I discussed the upcoming months last night and put some finishing touches on our plans. As always, looking beyond next week takes some serious concentration and decision-making skills! We realized we have (after our guests leave) only 3 1/2 weeks to pack up our house and move all our things into storage (we'll get rid of some stuff). After that we will take a two week trip to Trujillo for the Bible Institute. After that we will be in Lima for a week. After that we will fly to the States where we basically will be living out of suitcases again for 3 more weeks, while driving around the U.S.! When we counted them up, we realized we will be living out of suitcases for something insane like 5 or 6 weeks! ...with four little kids! Oh my. Needless to say, last night I felt a little bit daunted by that. But I woke up this morning. And I realized... This is my life! How can I complain?! It is how the Lord has chosen to bless me! Besides, if I worry about tomorrow it only serves to ruin today. So, be happy, self, I say, and be grateful for what the Lord has given you today!

"...for his compassions never fail.

They are new every morning.

Great is your Faithfulness.

I say to myself, "The Lord is my portion, I will wait for him."

~ Lamentations 3:22-23

"...yet I will rejoice in the Lord,

I will be joyful in God my Savior.

The sovereign Lord is my strength,

he makes my feet like the feet of a deer,

he enables me to go on the heights."

~Habbakuk 3:18-19

Suitcase living-not fun. I estimate between our time in Thailand and then our across the USA trip, we will be doing it for 11 weeks straight!! Am I crazy or what? If I'm not yet, I will be by then!

It is a matter of attitude. I had to check on mine often. I am actually experiencing a different kind of homesickness from my family back home. Plus the fact that after 2 months, we are still a squatter here in my in laws. Not very comfortable and I am getting anxious everyday when we could move to our own place. But I do have a husband who still adores me and is really working hard. You're right, your post reminds me that this is the life that God has choose for me to bless.

Great is thy faithfulness, O God!
Thank you,
~ Melanie

Hi, Amy. You've been sick, and I've been moving. All settled now. WHEW!!! That is a job. I totally understand about the living out of suitcase and the transition issues for the kids. We're going through the transition AGAIN of a new city. It's hard. God has been saying over and over to me the very same verse you quoted. NEW EVERY MORNING! That's a good thing because I think I used them all up yesterday... :-) And take it one day at a time. When we plan too much, it's overwhelming. At least for me it is.

Will you be able to blog from the road? Hope so.

We are still alive

...albeit painfully :) I have been dutifully taking my turn at being sick, and although I am somewhat better than before, I am wondering if it will ever end.

Micah got sick AGAIN. He was in bed all afternoon yesterday and miserable through the night. And now GuerillaGuy is groaning again.

PLEASE KEEP PRAYING!!

I have debated whether or not to keep blogging about this, but as there has been little else to write about... and there are people who do pray... and well, I have to let you all know we are not dead!

Okay, so I've got to be going now.

Hey, one piece of news... I WON a contest! I cannot believe it. I don't remember what the guidelines were, I think just to leave a comment. But it doesn't matter I won my first bloggers contest ever! I won an e-book called "Loving Your Knight In Shining Armor... Even When He Doesn't Shine" by Lorrie. I printed it all off, trying to make it like a real book with 2 sided copies, then realized the pages aren't in order... ugh. Oh well.

Well, back to bed.

Amy

I'm sick and tired of this...

I'm tired because it's late. I'm sick because it seems to be my lot in life for this week. Afterall, it is my turn...

It all started almost 2 weeks ago with dear Micah being agonizingly sick, and then LooneyTunes with a very bad stomach ache. From there it passed to GuerrillaGuy who has been vomiting for the past several days. Just tonight PrettyPinkPrincess came down with a fever and is feeling quite crummy. I guess it is my turn now. I won't describe my symptoms for those of you weak of heart.

So, I apologize that this post doesn't not mark the turn of the tide for the more cheerful side of this blog. This sickness stuff surely has stifled our regular life/school/ministry activities... I've started to wonder if it is not some kind of spiritual attack. I'm not sure how those kind of things actually work. But you can keep on praying for us :) The Lord, of course, remains faithful.

I guess we may be headed back to the doctor's office afterall...

(see my last post for details about medical care)

Curious....you said you have lived lots of places. Are you a military family or missionaries? Just curious how you ended up in Peru! I have a friend in church who lived in Peru for several years.
